The New Paradigm for Preventive Medicine

My holistic approach to changing our epigenetics and healing our ancestral patterning.

What is Epigenetics?
Epigenetics is the study of how our genes are expressed, not just by our DNA, but by the environments, experiences, and beliefs that surround us. It explains how trauma, stress, nourishment, and even ancestral memory can turn certain genes on or off, influencing everything from our health to our emotional patterns. This is the foundation for my healing work as it is rooted in identifying the patterns that our ancestors past down to us and teaching us how to learn them, understand them, and change them so our health outcomes are different than those that came before us. This is the foundation for preventive medicine and the most important when trying to understand the root cause of chronic diseases.

Dr. Alysia’s Approach:
My approach to epigenetics blends modern science with ancestral knowing. I believe that healing happens not only through food and lifestyle, but through reprogramming the subconscious, tending to generational wounds, and remembering the rituals that kept our ancestors well. This wisdom embodies the psycho-neuro-immunologic approach and allows us to acknowledge the role that our mental, emotional, and spiritual states play in the expression of disease. True epigenetic wellness means reclaiming your power to rewrite the stories encoded in your DNA.

Medical Astrology and Human Design

I use medical astrology and human design as foundational tools to help women craft wellness plans that honor their unique energies and predispositions. By reading astrological charts, I uncover potential health susceptibilities and patterns tied to planetary influences, while human design reveals each woman’s energy type, authority, and strategies for decision-making. These modalities teaches us how to care for ourselves by understanding the best ways to manage and maintain our vitality. This is the basis for understanding our epigenetics and the patterns that have been passed down by our ancestors.

When we live out of alignment with our energy type—whether by overworking, suppressing our natural rhythms, or making decisions that don’t feel aligned—we can fall into patterns of imbalance that lead to stress and illness.

The key to health and prevention lies in fully understanding our energy blueprint and creating a life that supports it.

From this foundation, we can make choices that nurture vitality, prevent burnout, and bring harmony to our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Nature’s Remedies

As an herbalist, nature and the many medicinal benefits of herbs and adaptogens have always been a hallmark to my treatment plans and protocols. I do not prescribe or offer western medical treatment and am strictly utilizing my knowledge in herbalism and nutrition.

As a practitioner of vitalist herbalism, I use medical astrology to interpret overall constitutions of each of my clients and am able to come up with herbal remedies that can support overall health and wellness as well as individual ailments.

Lifestyle and Nutrition

Our bodies are made to utilize the nutrients that we give them and the root of healing and wellness is directly related to the food we eat. We create a balance between nutrition with common disease states. Nutrition supports our bodies from the inside out and helps us create an environment for our internal systems to thrive.

It sounds so simple.

But most people are eating in ways that are not supportive to their overall wellness and are unaware of how toxins are impacting them. I recommend diet plans and recipes that help support hormonal health, anti-inflammation, and immune system function.
